Definition

A device to shield or separate one part of an apparatus from other parts, or to separate the effects of one part on others. In electronic charting, a device connected to a COMPUTER displaying information either under computer control, or under user control, e.g. on a CATHODE-RAY TUBE. Devices allowing for high resolution are capable of displaying also graphics.
