Definition

A long, narrow, U-shaped or V-shaped shallow depression of the SEAFLOOR usually occurring on a gently sloping PLAIN or FAN. A continuously sloping, elongated DEPRESSION commonly found in CONES or ABYSSAL PLAINS and customarily bordered by levees on one or both sides.
