Photographic term for negative contrast resulting from development, and not the contrast of the subject itself; a numerical measure of CONTRAST in the development of a NEGATIVE. A small unit of MAGNETIC FIELD INTENSITY generally used in describing the EARTH's MAGNETIC FIELD. It is defined as being equal to 10-5 OERSTED.
