Definition

In British terminology, a new printing of an existing CHART embodying the latest information received in the Hydrographic Department. The CHART is entirely revised throughout and modernized in style, all copies of the CHART in circulation being cancelled. When a new edition is published the LARGE and SMALL CORRECTIONS dates are removed (these corrections being embodied in the new edition). In U.S. terminology, a new printing of an existing CHART embodying corrections that have become so extensive or of such importance to NAVIGATION as to render all previous printings obsolete.
