Definition
The movement which includes both the vertical RISE and fall of the TIDE, and the horizontal FLOW of the TIDAL CURRENTS. This movement is associated with the astronomical TIDE-PRODUCING FORES of the MOON and SUN acting upon the rotating EARTH.
