The determination and application of CORRECTIONS to OBSERVATIONS or MEASUREMENTS, for the purpose of reducing ERRORS or removing internal inconsistencies in observed results. Adjustment may either refer to mathematical procedures or to CORRECTIONS applied to instruments.
